The Housing Opportunities Collaborative (HOC) works to educate the public on all aspects of owning or renting a home. We are a free resource here to assist you with any and all housing related issues. From renting to buying to foreclosure and more, the collaborative works to ensure you have the most up to date information and comprehensive resources easily accessible.
Not only do we provide information, we develop opportunities and present avenues for you to seek further assistance, enabling you to secure sustainable housing. This includes offering services to help you better understand legal situations, build assets, and improve overall financial wellbeing.
As a non-profit, we work as a collaboration with HUD approved housing counseling agencies, other non-profits, fair housing agencies, business organizations and government agencies dedicated to housing related organization to provide counseling and the most accurate and up to date information. Other resources we provide are outreach events, capacity building workshops and trainings.
To better serve you, we developed the Virtual Counselor Network to make it easier to connect the community to social agencies and partner organization through a digital platform.
Our Mission
Housing Opportunities Collaborative mission is “to promote equal access to housing for all persons in the region, especially low income and underprivileged individuals and families, by educating the public concerning home ownership and landlord-tenant rights and responsibilities, seeking financial and capacity building resources, providing financial and other resources, monitoring compliance with housing related laws, and conducting related activities.”
